Hockey Canada announced the names of the 43 players - representing eight of the 10 Canadian provinces - invited to Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team selection camp, taking place Aug. 6-16, 2015, in Calgary, Alberta. Two of these players include OLS forwards Anonda Hoppner and Tasza Tarnowski. The roster includes 6 goalies, 12 defense and 25 forwards. The 43 players have been split into two teams that will play intersquad games, participate in practices, fitness testing, off-ice dryland training and high performance classroom sessions.
Following the series against the U.S., Hockey Canada scouts, along with the team’s coaching staff, will continue to evaluate players with their provincial and club teams during the 2015-16 season, including at the 2015 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Huntsville, Ont., from Nov. 4-8, in preparation for selecting the Canadian team that will compete at the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship, Jan. 8-15, 2016, in St. Catharines, Ont.
