Former Lady Sen goaltender Amanda Leveille (2012) made 47 saves and was named Player of the Game as the Minnesota Whitecaps booked their slot in the Isobel Cup final on Saturday night before a sold out crowd of nearly 2,000 fans.
The Minnesota Whitecaps eliminated the back-to-back champions Boston Pride in two-straight games in their best-of-three semifinal series. Leveille’s two playoff wins brings her career postseason total to nine in 12 appearances which is the most all-time. Her series-ending performance limited the Boston Pride, who have the league’s highest scoring offense, to just one goal for only the second time all year.
The Whitecaps will face the winner between Toronto and Connecticut in the league’s other semifinal that wraps up Monday night 6pm at the Mattamy Athletic Centre and can be seen live on ESPN+ / TSN2. (UPDATE: Toronto Six 3 Connecticut Whale 0. Toronto advance to the first Isobel Cup final in franchise history)
The final will be played on Sunday, March 26 at Mullett Arena, Arizona at 9:00 p.m. ET and can be seen live on ESPN2 and TSN5.
