LADY SENS ALUM ASSISTANT FOR NATIONAL U18
Lady Senator Alum and current UOttawa Women’s Hockey Assistant Coach Stefanie McKeough (2009) has been chosen as an Assistant Coach for the National U18 Team, continuing her association with that program both as a player and a coach.
Whilst a Lady Sen in 2008-09 season Stefanie played with the U18 at the IIHF U18 WWC in Germany. Last summer she was part of the first all-women coaching staff in the history of Canada’s women’s U18 program.
This 2022 article from Hockey Canada highlights her progress from elite collegiate player to coaching with the national U18 Team and how the role models she met along the way opened her eyes to the possibility of a coaching future.
As McKeough says “if you can see it, you can be it”.
